Call For Papers – 2012 Workshop on Pharmaco-Informatics for Drug Discovery
Philadelphia, USA
October 4-7, 2012

Background
The advances of genomics, proteomics, chemoinformatics, and other systems-based scientific approaches have raised expectations on novel targets for drug discovery. Similarly, advances in protein engineering sciences and medicinal chemistries raised the prospects of molecular targeted therapeutics that maximizes efficacy with minimum systemic toxicity. This is in the face of high levels of R&D expenditures in both public and private sectors, and suggests that integrative approaches are needed in order to maximally exploit the rapidly expanding knowledge of potential drug and therapeutic targets. The convergence of novel druggable targets with new drug entities that can specifically modulate the activity or expression of disease-causing proteins and genes may provide a means of creating highly efficacious and specific therapies.
